Revamping History: How Go Store It Modernized a Pensacola Property
In what can be considered a green renovation, the self-storage company Goes Store It, an affiliate of Madison Capital Group has breathed life back into an old office building. The ambitious project is in Pensacola, Florida, where Go Store It has opened a new adaptive reuse self-storage facility.
According to Yardi Matrix data, the two-story property comprises 70,147 rentable square feet and was previously constructed as an office building way back in 1972. The renovation team was spearheaded by BenCo Construction, materializing a $7 million vision funded by a construction loan from Ameris Bank in 2022.
Go Store It’s Pensacola facility is not just an ordinary self-storage unit. Its amenities include 530 climate-controlled units, video surveillance, moving and packing supplies, security lighting, fencing, and more. These units range in size from 38 to 250 square feet, offering a diverse choice for potential renters.
Located strategically near Interstate 110 and U.S. Route 29, the facility is just a stone’s throw away, just about three miles, from downtown Pensacola. Accessibility was a key factor in transforming the property into a self-storage facility, as Neil Dyer, Vice President of acquisitions for Go Store It, affirmed.
Serving a more comprehensive community including Brent, West Pensacola, Bellview, and Myrtle Grove, Store It Pensacola adds more storage options to a market that already offers 12.8 rentable square feet per person within a 3-mile radius, a stat further backed by Yardi Matrix data. And this is just the beginning, as Pensacola’s self-storage industry shows no signs of slowing down, with nine more facilities under construction.
On a similar note, Go Store It is also expanding its Florida footprint with a newly opened Naples facility covering more than 107,200 square feet.
